T4: Three countries, private tour: France, Italy, Monaco

Three countries in one day
Recommended duration 8 hours

During this tour you will discover picturesque towns along the French and Italian Riviera with a stop in the Principality of Monaco. The tour itinerary is flexible and can be adapted to your available time and interests, from art to architecture to shopping. To best appreciate this tour we recommend a full day (8 hours).

Italy: Crossing the border into Italy, just 40 minutes from Nice, you might visit the coastal town of San Remo with its lively open-air market on Thursdays and Saturdays, or Bordighera, popular for its Thursday market as well as its leather goods and fashion accessories. A short drive into the hills from San Remo is the 9th century village of Bussana Vecchia, whose crumbling buildings – devastated by an earthquake in 1887 – have in recent years been colonized by artists. Other exceptional towns in the area include the medieval perched villages of Dolceaqua and Apricale, with their stunning views across the olive groves to the sea.

Monaco: In contrast to these ancient towns, Monaco and Monte Carlo provide a glimpse into the life of the rich and famous with the glitzy Casino and café terraces that are perfectly placed for watching the beautiful people and luxury cars.

France: We might finish the tour by visiting the French resort town of Menton, famed for its 19th-century villas and gardens, the perched village of Eze or perhaps the town of Villefranche sur Mer, with its beautiful bay and narrow medieval streets. Or, if you prefer, you might see the highlights of Nice, known as « the most Italian city in France ».
